Information
Mislinja existed as a municipality during the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, and the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia until 1955, when it was merged into the larger Municipality of Slovenj Gradec. It regained independence in 1995. With an area of 112 km², Mislinja is one of the larger municipalities in Slovenia. It includes 11 settlements, around 1,265 house numbers, and has approximately 4,700 residents. It is a typical rural municipality, stretching from 520 meters above sea level in Spodnje Dovže up to Črni Vrh, the highest peak of Pohorje at 1,543 meters. The municipality covers the upper Mislinja Valley—from the river’s source near Rogla to Dovže—and the Dolič Basin, reaching from the source of the Paka River to Huda Luknja, including hilly areas between Paški Kozjak, Pohorje, and Graška Gora. Major settlements developed along the Paka (Srednji and Gornji Dolič) and Mislinja Rivers (Mislinja, Šentilj).
